Mom,
We continue to be embraced by your grace and dignity in this sacred place that you loved so much. We cherish the heritage you left each one of us that manifests itself in our relations with others:
As other’s see grace in us
May they know that it is of you
As other’s see compassion and care in us
May they know that it is of you
As other’s see love for nature in us
May they know that it is of you
As other’s see an abiding faith in Jesus
May they know that it is of you
As other’s see courage among chaos
May they know that it is of you
As other’s see a neighboring spirit in us
May they know that it is of you
As other’s see unity in our siblings despite our diversity
May they know that it is of you
As other’s see dignity and respect for others in us
May they know that it is of you
I’m sure Ryan has already directed you to a small stool to sit as he climbs into his big chair across from you and says “Grandma, we’ve got a lot to catch up on” … give him all my love, Mom.
Mom, may you rest now knowing that we will continue to take care of Dad, love each other, and seek the best for each moment we breathe the air on earth.
And from one of your favorite poets (Mr. Keats):
A thing of beauty is a joy forever,
It’s loveliness increases, it will never
Pass into nothingness, but will keep
A bower quiet for us.
Truly you were, you are, and you forever will be a JOY for us all.
I Love You Mom…
